The Perfection (2019) Movie Review

The Perfection is a Netflix original movie that was released on May 24, 2019 and directed by Richard Shepard. This was one crazy movie…

Without giving away any spoilers I will give a brief summary of the plot. Lizzie is a student of Anton at the Bachoff Academy and she is a great musician. She ends up meeting Charlotte who had to leave the Bachoff Academy after her mother got sick. She realized all of the abuse that happened to her when she was there and decided that she needed to help Lizzie escape. This all then leads to a lot of craziness and drama. There were also some great plot twists along the way that I won’t spoil.

The cast in this movie was very good. Allison Williams played Charlotte and Logan Browning played Lizzie. These two were so amazing, as they conveyed so much emotion in what they were saying. They had good chemistry as they were together for a large portion of the movie. They were the stars of the show, and their performances backed that up. I haven’t seen a lot of Logan Browning so if she does any other movies I will definitely be looking out for those. Steven Weber played Anton and he did a good job with his role. I didn’t like his character, but he did a good job with the script that he was given. The cast deserves so much credit for making this movie worth a watch.

I did enjoy most of this movie, however there were some things that weren’t my favorite. I felt as if the sex scene they had at the beginning of the movie was a little weird, and definitely seemed unnecessary. The first 20 minutes of the movie were also kind of boring. There wasn’t really a lot happening as they were mostly just introducing us to all of the characters. After the first 20 minutes, everything then starts to go insane. I can understand why this movie has been making people want to throw up because there are some very gross or disgusting moments. This didn’t bother me much, however if you are grossed out by vomit or bugs then I would recommend to stay away from this.

Overall, this was a movie that I enjoyed. I really didn’t know anything about it at all going in so I think that helped. I think that I would watch it again if I am in the mood for a horror/drama movie. I give The Perfection a 7 out of 10 on the scale of awesomeness as it was a very interesting movie that is different than anything else out right now.
